Seinfeld References #122 & 123

January 23, 2014: Seinfeld Reference #122
I was proofreading some scripts for AX, and the title of one of them was "Write Offs". Of course my first thought goes right to:

Jerry: "You don't even know what a write off is." ...
Kramer: "Well they're the ones writing it off."

I recently got my Outlook upgraded from the 2003 version to the 2010 version, and there are so many new features. One of them is the "ribbon" at the top. I was looking at some of the settings and it said "Minimize Ribbon" and "Hide Ribbon". For some reason, the first thing I thought of was when Kramer didn't want to wear the AIDS ribbon, and in my mind as I was reading those settings, I was reading them with the accents of the Puerto Ricans that said "Who? Who doesn't want to wear the ribbon?"

Music Ironicness

1. I was leaving work to go home, and the first song that played in the car was Daughtry's "Home", in which the lyrics actually state "I'm going home".

2. Today was a stressful day, and I've got a lot of things I'm worrying and stressing over. One of the songs that played randomly while I was working was The All-American Rejects' song "Why Worry".

Seinfeld Reference #121

Today I read a news headline that read: "Man accused of killing stepfather with 'atomic wedgie'". ATOMIC WEDGIE! No kidding! How ridiculous?! It's sad that someone died, but how can you not think of George getting an atomic wedgie by Mr. Heyman, the gym teacher.

Music Ironicness

This morning I was in the bathroom getting ready. I hadn't put in my contacts yet, and I was debating if I just wanted to wear my glasses, because the last few days my eyes have really been irritated. As I was thinking, my eyes started burning, as they do sometimes. And as I was thinking to myself "man, my eyes are really burning this morning"...my alarm playing music was playing the song "The Collapse" by Adelitas Way, and in the song there is a line "I want it to break, I want it to burn".

Music Ironicness

A couple of strange music things happened yesterday:

1) The random song that was playing was Katy Perry's "Wide Awake". In the song there is a line that goes "...falling from cloud nine". At the time that that line played, I was scrolling through some songs and exactly when she sang "nine" I was looking at the Casey James song "Jealous Guy", that appeared on Season 9 of American Idol (and I have that as the album title). So she was singing "nine" and I was looking at "9" at the same time.

2) 2 random songs happened to play in the same day with the line "shake that thing". I think these 2 songs are the only 2 songs in my 9,000+ song collection with that phrase. The 2 songs couldn't be more different. One is a country song from the movie Country Strong ("Shake That Thing" performed by Gwyneth Paltrow) and the other is from a sort of rock group ("Paris" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals). Very strange.
